Choose your tree, buy it for yourself or the people you love, and plant it! An unusual and meaningful gift to support the Plan Vivo project, which is committed to planting new trees in those areas that are seriously affected by deforestation. You will support local populations and make your contribution to tackling climate change.
A gift for everyone
Trees help to absorb the CO2 in the air, improving its quality and helping to limit the damage caused by climate change. They provide shelter and food for animals, limit the erosion of water resources and contribute to energy saving. Plant a tree and you will contribute to a significant improvement in the quality of life not only for the local populations, but also for you!
Choose your tree from three different species
Plant your tree choosing among three different species and give one to your friends too! Among other advantages, local populations that suffer the direct consequences of deforestation will benefit from your choice. By purchasing one of the trees offered by iGreen Gadgets and Plan Vivo Foundation, you choose to compensate for CO2 throughout its life cycle. According to a calculated estimate of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change UNFCCC, in a life cycle spanning between 20 and 40 years, a tree can absorb 10/20 kg of CO2 each year.
Let’s know trees better: Cesalpinia Velutina
Caesalpinia Velutina belongs to the Leguminosae species. Widespread mainly in Central America, it produces an abundance of leaves and flowers. The clusters and pods of yellow flowers are also very popular with bees! Plant a Cesalpinia Velutina tree and you will have a double benefit: you will help both the planet and the bees, who will be able to reciprocate with excellent honey!
Gliricida Sepium: large leaves and pink petals
Gliricida Sepium also belongs to the Leguminosae species and is widespread in Central America. Gliricida Sepium grows up to fifteen meters, and together with its broad leaves, it offers shade to tea, coffee and cocoa plantations. In addition, it improves the quality of the soil, the nitrogen level, and by retaining the water it helps to keep the surrounding land fertile.
Pinus Kesiya: the tree of Hymalaia
It is the most common conifer in Asia, it grows almost exclusively in southern Hymalaia, and, due to deforestation, it can only be found in the Khasi and Naga mountain range in the Meghalaj and Manípur states. It can reach 30 meters in height, and in addition to wood it offers high quality resin useful for the production of turpentine and rosin.

INDIA PROJECT– Khasi Hills
India Project – Khasi Hills
Project Goal: compensate more than 318,000 tons of CO2 Location: Umiam Watershed, Khasi • Hills District, Meghalaya, India Main aims of the project: restoration and protection of wildlife along the Umiam River, which connects sacred forests; landscape forest regeneration. Duration of the project: 2010 – 2021
In the eastern Himalayas, between mountain clouds and natural pine forests, there is the Meghalaya Region, in India. A part of the region prides itself of the second recorded rainfall in the world. Despite the conversion of many indigenous Khasis to Christianity, many still retain animistic beliefs. Respect for the spirits of nature has contributed to preserving natural resources within designated areas such as sacred forests.
However, in recent decades, mining, fires, increased consumption of firewood and transformation of land for agriculture deteriorated much of the forest.
With the support of I/INGOs, in recent years, this fundamental spiritual value has been focussed on preserving nature. By combining new science with ancient beliefs, a Federation of 10 indigenous kingdoms has been created in the Khasi Hills to manage a long-term REDD + project. The project was certified in 2013 and is the first REDD + project in India.
Nicaragua PROJECT – CommuniTree
Nicaragua Project – CommuniTree
Project Goal: 3.000.000 Trees Location: San Juan de Limai, Nicaragua Main aims of the project: Preserving biodiversity by reforesting degraded areas Duration of the project: 2010 – 2035
The CommuniTree Carbon program (formally known as the Limay Community Carbon Project) is a community-supported reforestation initiative that groups agricultural families in the municipality of San Juan de Limay and Somoto in Nicaragua, and aims to develop ecosystem services for the carbon credit market.
Reforestation is needed to restore ecosystems, improve livelihoods and tackle climate change. Taking into account the causes of deforestation, the involved communities reforest and manage the wooded areas of their land in exchange for payments for eco-systemic services.
The region is located in a critical area at one of the most important estuaries in the country, Estero Real. This estuary is home to one of the largest extensions of mangroves and migratory birds in the country, and has been recognized as of international importance by the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands. The reforestation program plays a fundamental role in regulating the hydrological cycle, providing important advantages for water and biodiversity, both locally and internationally.

Rated 5 out of 5
Stefania –
A beautiful initiative through which it is possible to plant trees in different parts of the world. The catalogue offers three different types of trees, which allow to absorb CO2 and to give economic support to local populations.
The project was born from a simple idea that has turned into a project known worldwide and which seeks to do good on several fronts including the environmental and social ons.
If we all planted a tree, we would certainly help save our planet!
