Why is Communication so important?

Through communication we can raise public awareness and change day-to-day routines. It is important to realize that all our actions, even the smallest and apparently most meaningless ones, can make a difference. We live in a global home, a global village, where the habits of every single individual have an impact on the whole environment. From China to Italy, from France to Germany, and from America to Iran, we all breathe the same air, and walk the same Earth.

“It has been said that something as small as the flutter of a butterfly’s wing can ultimately cause a typhoon halfway around the world” this quote comes from the film The Butterfly Effect, directed by Eric Bress. It could sound like an overstatement, but if we change it to:

“It has been said that something as small as the flutter of many butterflies’ wings can ultimately cause a typhoon halfway around the world” we can see how this claim recalls a more profound meaning, where the real strength comes from every “drop” in the ocean, from the flutter of all of the many butterflies’ wings that can lead to great change.

We are those drops. Together, we can unleash a hurricane that can upset the order of things, the production systems, the deforestation, the excessive exploitation of non-biodegradable materials, and the reliance on polluting means of transportation. As inhabitants of this planet, we must turn the tide that will eventually submerge our future, and find again our hope in a better tomorrow for us and for the forthcoming generations.

Putting ideas to good use to help the Environment

Convincing more and more people to change their habits is no easy task, but to keep to the metaphor, gutta cavat lapidem. Drops alone, with their small but persistent contribution, can carve stones and chisel the path to a better present and even better future.
This is the foundation of the iGreen Project: raise awareness and educate the public thanks to creativity and communication. An incisive and impactful type of communication, capable of inspiring small flutter in many butterflies’ wings.
